About me and this site
I'm Juan José Alonso. I study Engineering and am currently an intern at Uber. I’m a technology enthusiast and, like seemingly everyone these days, particularly interested in artificial intelligence.
For several years, I was a teaching assistant for the Artificial Intelligence course offered by the Department of Computer Science at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
That experience showed me the enormous interest people have in understanding the tools around us. It also helped me discover how much I enjoy turning complex ideas into clear explanations.
Over time, I realized that the same questions kept coming up in conversations with friends and family. That’s when I decided to start documenting my answers.
I created Actually Informed to make what I’ve learned (and what I’m still learning) available to more people.
Here, I write about the fundamentals, risks, and practical applications of artificial intelligence. My goal isn’t to convince you that AI is good or bad, but to give you the tools to understand it and form your own opinion.
You don’t need a technical background. Just some curiosity about the technology changing our world.
